Where in the world are we?

With this blog I hope to communicate where we are and the opportunities we have had in traveling across America and around the world.

It's been too long...

Hello friends:

Just checking in, it has been awhile! We are doing great and the summer is moving along quite fast. Since my last entry we have been traveling all over the midwest from Illinois to Iowa to Minnesota, and our own beautiful Wisconsin.

We actually just returned home this Sunday evening from two weeks of travel. The first week we were on vacation, camping and fishing in the northwoods of WI by the Miller Dam Flowage in Taylor County. The weather was great, camping was great, but the fishing...not so much.

We were blessed to have family with us, and since my sister lives nearby she and her husband came out to the campsite for a meal together. We also had our oldest son, and two of his kids with us. Our grandson, Anthony, was there the whole time. He is 16 years old; we forgot what it was like to have a teenager. Put it this way...I had to get groceries on Thursday!!! We loved having him though (thanks for coming Anthony!!!). His Dad and sister came on Wednesday night. It has been awhile since Mike has been able to come camping. Alexis (who is 8 yrs. old) had never camped with us before...she had a great time. We all did!

The Miller Dam Flowage is on the Yellow River in northern WI. Good fishing usually but this year, as many of you know, the spring and summer have been pretty warm. We figure the fish were very deep in the cold water. Bill still enjoyed his time on the flowage and had fish two nights that week. It was a pure, wonderful, gracious blessing from our Father to be in His creation and to get to enjoy family, too!

The second week was at Spencer Lake Family Camp just south of Waupaca, WI. It's one of the Assemblies of God Bible camps in WI (the other one is near Superior, WI). All I can say is this year's Camp was incredible. Yes, it was very hot...trip digits until Friday...but the services were amazing. The speakers messages were very challenging; I took a lot of notes!!! We saw many of our pastor friends, and others that we have met while ministering at their churches.

Spencer Lake is a very beautiful area of Wisconsin. You have to see it to really appreciate it's uniqueness!

Tomorrow we'll be leaving for ministry in the Des Moines, IA area. First time at this church...I'll be posting updates on Facebook.

I apologize for not blogging sooner; some times it's hard to figure out what to say. Apparently today I plenty of words!
